So today i'm well bored,it raina n rains i can't go shopping n i'm stuck @ home*sighs*I want to buy that everlast pom shoes><*freaks out*which cost $49.90=$50(so ex)i'm using my own money so my parents allow me to^^But they dun let me have my 3rd or 4th ear hole pierced,and for the class blog,i dun really like it.The background's blue,eww~~We should add more colours as well as life into it!XD

Speech Freaked Out!~

i've finally finished my speech and i've remember mainly every thing here's my speech:

Good afternoon Miss Chan and 1E2 classmates.My name is Stella Lim and the
topic i will be sharing with you today is "Land Pollution".
Do you know what
Land Pollution is?Land Pollution is the degradation of Earth's land surface
through the misuse of soil by poor agicultre practices, mineral explotiaionand
indiscriminate disposal of urban watse. This includes visible waste and litter
as well as pollution on the soil itself.While waste collected from
houses,offices and industrials may be recycled or burnt in incinerators,there is
still a large amount of rubbish neither recycled nor burnt and are left in areas
marked by the government as dumping grounds.With the rising standards of
living,we are throwing away more things and there is an increase in the quanity
of solid waste.Do you know that we are producing about 5 .6 million tonnesof
rubbish a year,of which 3 million tonnes are recycled and the remaining 2.6
million tonnes are disposed in incinerators or landfills. This situation raised
problems such as,where do we find new dumping grounds?
The solution to Land
Pollution is Reuse,Reduce and Recycle.Here are some tips on the 3Rs:Reuse:-we
can reuse plastic bags we get from the supermarket to line our bins at
home.Recycle:-make visits o the recycling bank as part of your weekly
routine.Reduce:-we can bring our own shopping bags when we go and buy
groceries.
Do you know that Singapore Environment Council lunched their first
"Bring Your Own Bag Day","BYOBD"on the 14th April 2007.Subsequently,evert first
wednesday of the month will be designated BYOBD. On BYOBD,shoppers who do not
bring their own shopping bags can purchase reusable bags at counters of
participating supermarkets or donate 10 cents for each plastic bags taken at
check out counters.
As a teenager,we can do our part to prevent land
pollution by disposing some watse correctly and by cutting down on watse in our
dustbins with a little thought ang effort.I hope you will take my speech to
consideration,and with that i thank you for listening to me.

I really hope tad i wun freak out in front opf 39 students and 1 teacher~my speech will be on the tuesday~wish me good luck~
